The First Consultation: 17/11/2011

Symptoms and Signs:

Has been suffering from low back pain for 10 months. The pain radiates to the right hip and leg. The symptoms has getting worse in the last 2 weeks. Sleep is disturbed by pain. Feel tired and frustrated. Light red tongue with thin and white coat. Wiry and thin pulse.

TCM Differential Diagnosis: Kidney deficiency and Liver Qi stagnation.

Principle of Treatment: Tonify the kidney and resolve the Liver Qi Stagnation.

Acupuncture treatment: Shi Mian(B),Gan Shu(B), Shen Shu(B),Da Chang Shu(B),Huang Tiao(R),Wei Yan(B).

 

The Second Consulatation: 21/11/2011

The back pain is much better. Feel a little bit uncomfortable of the right leg.

Sleep is better. Moods and Energy are both improved.

TCM Differential Diagnosis: Kidney deficiency and Liver Qi stagnation.

Principle of Treatment: Tonify the kidney and resolve the Liver Qi Stagnation.

Acupuncture treatment: Shi Mian(B),Gan Shu(B), Shen Shu(B),Da Chang Shu(B),Huang Tiao(R),Wei Yan(B).

 

The Third Consultation: 24/11/2011

The pain is almost gone. Sleep, energy and moods are all fine. Pulse is not as wiry and thin.

Acupuncture treatment: Shi Mian(B),Gan Shu(B), Shen Shu(B),Da Chang Shu(B),Huang Tiao(R).

 

The Fourth Consultation: 24/09/2016 

Symptoms and Signs:

Right side low back pain(radiate the right leg) happened again. Right side Neck is stiff with headache, stressed and tired. Hot and flush(once to twice per night) with disturbed sleep. Red tongue with thin and white coat. Wiry and thin pulse.

TCM Differential Diagnosis: Kidney deficiency, Liver Qi stagnation, Yin and Yang imbalance.

Principle of Treatment: Tonify the kidney and resolve the Liver Qi Stagnation, Balance Yin and Yang.

Acupuncture treatment: use combined abdominal acupuncture with traditional acupuncture this time because she has quite a few problems at the same time: Zhong Wan, Guan Yuan, Shan Qu (R), Hua Rou Men (R), Wai Lin(R), Qi Pan (R), Bai Hui, San Yin Jiao(B).

Herbal Medicine (a week supply): Jia Wei Xiao Yao San 12 pills, twice per day. Du Huo Ji Shen Wan 12 pills, twice per day.

 

The Fifth Consultation: 01/10/2016

Only took the herbs for 3 day because she doesn’t like to use herbs. However, her low back pain is much better, stiff neck and headache disappear, not as stressed and tired, hot and flush with disturbed sleep is improved. Red tongue with thin and white coat. Pulse is not as wiry.

Continue with the same Acupuncture treatment: Zhong Wan, Guan Yuan, Shan Qu (R), Hua Rou Men (R), Wai Lin(R), Qi Pan (R), Bai Hui, San Yin Jiao(B).

After another 3 acupuncture sessions to consolidate, all symptoms are gone.
